In the Waiting

"Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!" – Psalm 27:14

Patience isn’t exactly my strong suit. Whether it’s waiting for my kids to finally clean up their toys or for answers to bigger, deeper prayers, I often find myself wishing for instant solutions. But God’s timing isn’t like ours, is it? It’s slower. Steadier. Perfect.

Waiting can feel like wasted time, but it’s really an invitation. God asks us to wait not as punishment but as a way to draw closer to Him. In those moments of uncertainty, He’s teaching us to trust—not in the outcomes we want but in His goodness and plan. I’ve learned that the waiting often holds lessons I wouldn’t have noticed if life always moved at my pace.

Maybe you’re waiting for something today: clarity, healing, a breakthrough, or just the chance to sit down for five uninterrupted minutes. Whatever it is, know that God is present in the waiting. Lean into Him. Let Him strengthen your heart and remind you that His timing is worth trusting.

Prayer: Lord, I don’t always understand why You ask me to wait, but I know Your timing is perfect. Teach me to trust You more in the waiting and to see the beauty in what You’re doing, even when I can’t see the full picture. Amen.
