The Gift of Patience
Scripture: Galatians 5:22-23 – "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."
If there’s one thing motherhood teaches, it’s patience. Whether it’s answering the same question for the fiftieth time or waiting for your child to tie their shoes "all by themselves," patience is the unsung hero of parenting. But let’s be honest—there are days when patience feels like an impossible virtue.
Galatians 5:22-23 reminds us that patience is a fruit of the Spirit. That means we don’t have to manufacture it ourselves—it’s a gift that God cultivates in us as we lean on Him. On days when my patience wears thin (hello, bedtime battles), I try to remember that I’m not alone in this. God’s Spirit is at work in me, helping me to love my children even when it’s hard.
Let’s encourage each other today. What’s one way you’ve seen God grow patience in your parenting journey? Whether it’s a funny story or a heartfelt lesson, share it below. Let’s celebrate the little victories together!
