The Season of Small Things

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” — Zechariah 4:10 (NLT)

Motherhood is full of small things.

Small hands reaching for yours. Small voices asking for another bedtime story. Small messes that don’t feel so small when they’re scattered across your entire house.

It’s easy to overlook the small things. To feel like they don’t matter.

But the small things? They add up.

Every hug, every “I love you,” every moment spent being with your children is building something bigger than you can see right now.

One day, the house will be quiet. The messes will be gone. The little hands won’t reach for yours anymore.

And you’ll realize—the small things were never small at all.

So today, I’m choosing to slow down. To notice. To treasure this season, messy and exhausting as it may be.

Because one day, I’ll miss the small things.
